Every year, the Society bestows the J. S. Gravenstein Award for lifetime achievement in the area of technology in anesthesia. Medical Education Technologies, Inc. (METI), a longtime supporter of the STA, shares in supporting this award.
The award is named for J. S. "Nik" Gravenstein, a founding member and former president of the STA. For over thirty years, Dr. Gravenstein has been a driving force in advancing anesthesia technology, patient simulation and anesthesia patient safety. His lifelong commitment to developing and teaching anesthesia technology embodies the values of the Society.
Recipients are invited to make a lunchtime presentation at the Annual STA Meeting, where the award is presented. A list of previous winners can be found at www.stahq.org
