OCA, a national organization dedicated to advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans (APAs), is currently seeking workshop proposals for its 2013 National Convention in Washington, D.C. from July 18th to 21st. Proposals for workshops should educate and empower participants on key issues to enact change in their community with an end objective. Every year, OCA brings together hundreds of APAs from across the country for its annual National Convention for insightful workshops and panels as well as networking opportunities. This year highlights OCA's 40th anniversary with many special events planned in the nation's Capitol.
Workshops are typically 1 hour 15 minutes and feature 1 moderator and 3 panelists.
Past Convention workshop topics include: Hate Crimes, Elections, Healthcare, Immigration, Education, Community Building, Media, Culture and History, and LBGT issues. Non-traditional workshop proposals are strongly recommended.
