A Class. Intended for High School jazz ensembles that primarily perform Grade 3 - 4 literature (Medium to Medium-Advanced). A Class bands must play at least 4 different charts at shows during the season (shows can include exhibition performances and Championships).

Open Class. Intended for High School jazz ensembles that primarily perform Grade 4 - 6 literature (Medium-Advanced to Advanced). Open Class bands must play at least 5 different charts at shows during the season (shows can include exhibition performances and Championships).
